Need a gyn-oncologist in San Antonio, TX....

I need some names of good gynecologists or gynecologic oncologists in San Antonio, TX.

I have decided I am going to gyn oncologist for a second opinion, but can I get in to see one them BEFORE a cancer diagnosis? In other words, can I use a gyn-oncol to rule out cancer, or will they only see me after my regular doc has diagnosed me with cancer?

The problem is, I don't think that my regular doc is necessarily the best one to even catch the cancer, due to his hit and miss approach.

Thanks ladies!

I looked up the Gyn/Onc list on OvCanet and came up with these names and phones. And yes, you should see a gyn/onc for consult first and should have him/her do the surgery if there's any chance of cancer.

This is what I saw: Mark G. Doherty and Bruce A. Fine at 210-692-1918. Fred M. Massey at 210-614-9548. A. James White at 210-616-063. Also a George Mitchell at a 512 exchange so maybe he's there part time, but his address was the same as Dhoherty and Fine.

Thank you SO much for those names!
The more I know, and the more I do, the less afraid I am.

God bless,

I live in San Antonio, and my gyn/onc is Dr. Massey. I absolutely LOVE my dr, and so does my whole family.

he is GREAT!!! and I highly recommend him to anyone and everyone.

He is VERY busy, and schedules apts late into the evening also.

Hi Tammy,
I called Dr. Massey's office, and he only sees patients who have a definitive cancer diagnosis, which I do not yet. I was wanting to know if Dr. Massey would be able to do the testing for cancer, but the answer was no.....only with a cancer diagnosis would I get in to see him.
