hot tummy

Hi, Mary,

I also had a tah, bso, but never had the warm/hot to touch belly. I did get swelly belly alot from being up awhile. You probably should put a call in to your doctor and get her/his opinion on this to make sure it's not a problem. How's your incision healing? Is it warm to touch, red, swollen, sore at all? Any fever or discharge from incision? Just curious. Always say when in doubt, check it out. It's a good standby. Keep us posted on what you find out. I'm curious what the doctor will say on this one. Take good care of yourself, don't overdo - 5 wks, still pretty new postop. God bless.

this is my opinion;always get medical advice from a doctor

Yes, I had a hot tummy. It was where it was healing and as it healed the hotness areas got smaller and smaller until they dissapeared! is a sign that the body is in the process of healing I think but I am not a doctor, its just a guess. If it were around the scar and sore with spreading redness or puss I would call the doctor very quickly as it could be infection, so if you suspect this then thats what I would do.

Lots of luck with your recovery

Oh I'm 7 weeks post op by the way and I had a TAH/BIL. OOPHERECTOMY.

Call you doctor!

I had a warm area on my belly and it was an infection. The said it was fevered. I had a week of antibiotics and it went away.

I would at least check to make sure it is not what I had. You don't want to risk more problems.
