Made it thru my epidural lumbar shot yesterday but now in pain

Hi ladies !

I made it thru my steroid shot for my back/hip/leg pain yesterday. But the pain has been awful today - I feel like I'm on one of the worst periods of my life. And my back is starting to hurt. The surgery center where I had it done did call while I was at work today. But the girl said the phone # so fast that I couldnt even figure it out. I guess I will call them in the morning - look up the # in the phone book.
Yesterday my left leg was numb all day - but just on the back of my leg. Was really weird !! I read in their papers that they sent home with me that that was normal to have numbness.
I dont have any breakthru meds - just the lortab I take for my severe headaches. So I've been taking those - guess I should call my PM Dr. - he is the one who did the shot.
Guess I just neeeded to vent - I didnt expect all this pain
I'll let you know what the Dr. says. Hopefully tommorrow is much better.

(((Susan))), I'm so sorry! I know you must be very disappointed about having this pain after having gone through the shot yesterday. I hope the Lortab helps you to rest tonight... and that your DR can help you when you call in the morning. Here are some extra to help get you through the night.

Good Morning

I am so sorry to hear you are in so much pain. I have heard that it gets worse before it gets better, not that it helps you any to hear that.

I too and scheduled for epidural steroid injections im May (if it does not interfere with my surgery) for L4-5 and L5-S1 for herniated discs and DDD.

I live in pain day in and day out with back pain, hip and leg pain (as well as pelvic pain) as I am sure you do too. I can literally feel your pain sweetie.....

I hope you pain has subsided some this morning, just take it easy and get alot of

When you feel up to it (no hurry, I have all the time in the world with all of this waiting I am doing) if you would not mind giving me the details of the procedure and where you had your injections so I can be prepared I would really appreciate it!!

Please keep us informed as to how you are doing!!

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!!

I had some discomfort after one of my epidural injections. I hurt worse in different areas than before the injection and I took some pain meds. The nurse told me I was allowed to take pain meds if needed. It went away after a day or two but it's a good idea to let the dr. know. Take it easy and I hope it works for you soon.

Big to you!

Sometimes the pain is worse for a day or so because the stuff they inject increases the volume of fluid in the spinal column. I would call anyway to get some pain meds, but I'm very hopeful the pain will decrease soon.

Knocking wood for you. Ow.
