Scootch report

I had my 4 week post op lymph node dissection/10week hyst check up yesterday. All went well and I did a scootch that would be about a 9-10. Course, they had the head of the exam table up and I think that helped a lot. Dr. said it was all healed inside (did not have a 6 week check due to the fact my second surgery was right at the 6 week point). She even made sure she got real high up with the speculum and I asked if that meant it wasn't shortened at all and she said that was right, it was not short. Yippee, one less worry. I get 2 more weeks off work. Had the first pap smear done, that felt about the same as when I had a cervix. I also had my hematocrit drwan so hope to find out soon what level that is at.

I had been having a left sided pain that felt like I had pulled ligaments but she reassured me that this was normal and lots of women had the same type of complaint. It was either muscular or from stitches disolving where the fascia (covering over the muscle) was stitched onto. Anyway, today after getting about 12 hours sleep, I feel much better and have not taken any narcotics for the first time in weeks. I think part of the pain was sitting to much at the puter and overdoing it helping with my Dad's move, so have stayed away from the puter and really rested for a few days. The doctor also reminded me that I did have 2 surgeries in 6 weeks so I should expect to take a bit longer and be a bit sorer.

So I can start doing what feels comfortable for me now. My body will still let me know what is too much I am sure. I did some cooking last night and the good old back ache is back with doing much activity so will have to get used to that again too.

That's great news!

Doing the happy for you as that sounds like a good report. Take it easy--I think you learned that the hard way--one surgery takes more than that "standard" six weeks but two--wow!
