This may sound like a silly ?? What to expect...

Today I finally see the doctor for this pelvic pain I have been having. And wouldn't you know that today seems to be one of the good days.... Anyway. What does a good doctor usually do during the exam when you are having pelvic pain so far after hyst. I just want to know what to expect. If they have ultrasound in the office, do they ususally fit you in right there, or make you come back... I'm just curious. I had it fairly easy last time with hyst. Office visit, then went back for hysteroscopy and ultrasound, then scheduled hyst. I am expecting the worst, that he will say there really is nothing wrong... perhaps I am overweight.... I am usually the optimist.... But now I'm just plain frustrated. Love you sisters....

Susie,

I'd be really surprised if your doc says that nothing is wrong, given that you are in pain ... hopefully the cause will be easily found and fixed. He might say he does not know what it is.... but I doubt he'd think you are making it up if that is what worries you.

You'll be in my thoughts today. Don't forget to update us after your appointment.

Oh Susie

I also had the pain almost 2 years after my hyst and had the same fears of them finding nothing. As Michelle said, I would also be suprised if he said it was nothing.

As for what they do at the appt, every Dr is different, but when I went I had a vaginal and rectal exam (rectal only because of rectocele). and he also put that wonderful cold speculum in to look inside at my "used to be" cervix area. I did not have an ultrasound yet, I go in tomorrow for that. He will check for pelvic tenderness pointing to either recurring endo or adhesions and like I said before I am not sure about the ultrasound. I would love to have been able to have that done at the same time.

Try to calm down and relax, it is pretty much the same as the exam before you hyst. You should be an old pro..

Please let us know how it goes today, I will be right there beside you in spirit telling you to relax and having the exam done will get you one step closer to finding out what is causing your pain..
