Depressing :(

OK, I had my TVH, bladder and rectum fixed on 2/24. I went for my post op today.

First let me say, I feel like the out woman out. I dont know how to describe it.. but can anything be normal?

My husband had surgery one month later and i have had to take care of him and the 3 kids.... thank god he is up and about now. We are a military family so NO family support whatsoever.

My house is a wreck. Laundry is soooo be hind... i cant lift, he cant fold (surgery on his right shoulder). We are lucky if we have a decent meal since his surgery.

MY DISABILITY GOT DENIED! NO KIDDING. I found out last week. I work 37 hours, was hired at full time with benefits. Unim called me and said i had to work a minimum of 40 hours. My employer is appealing but... ack

I had a blader infection 2 days after surgery, didnt even get a full 24 hours in the hospital after the surgery.

I started to feel really good just before hubby had his surgery...

I felt best when i went on cruise at the 3.5 week mark. I relaxed, didnt have to do ANYTHING, and felt great. TIL hubby had his surgery.

We asked my mother in law to come and stay and help us, but in return we got a one day visit where we catered to her... so saturday i cooked a sirloin roast, rice cassolette, and ssqaush for 8 people (my 2 BIL's came). They returned to NC that night... NO HELP, not even help with dishes.

Well I got really achy sunday. I knew i had overdone it the night before with cooking and cleaning. I started BLEEDING. YES bleeding I cried when i saw it. It was bright red, and not heavy or anything but it scared me.

Well I know my doc is in surgery on mondays, so i watied til today, my followup... get in there, felt like i was getting flayed by the speculum and pelvic exam. He said i have an infection, put betadine in my vagina, gave me a shot of penicillin, and a script for more antibiotics. THEN told me no work for 2 more weeks.

OK... I am cool with that, because i dont feel ready to go back to work monday, BUT I HAVE NO DISABILITY??!! I just want to cry. I feel so alone.

Sorry for venting... but i could have authored murphy's law.

Hi Denise,

I'm sorry you've been having a difficult recovery. If there is anything you can do, (I know you said your employer is appealing the denial of disability), to take the two extra weeks, please do it. I know you said your DH had surgery also, but you've really got to take the time to recover, or you will be having more problems down the road. I'm sorry you don't have any family or friends to help....I hope your employer will come through with disability so you can get through this. s

Hi Denise!

Sending you a big !

Call some neighbors, co-workers, parents of your children's friends, teachers, or a local church and let them know you need some help. The church I belong to offers help to members of our church but we also help anyone in the community with needs after surgeries and illness.

Taking the extra two weeks off will probably be really good for your recovery.

Take care of YOU!
