Sore Boobs 4 weeks now...Ouch

Hi Ladies,
I had A TAH about 61/2 months ago. Still HAVE OVARIES. I have had very sore boobs for about 4 weeks now. Had a sono yesterday, cause I had some pain on left side and a discharge. Dr. said I had an ovarian cyst that ruptured. Just wondering if these two things are related? And what could be causing this?

From what I've read here

If you still have your ovaries, you can get all the PMS symptoms, like sore breasts.

Hope someone else can give you more info.

Sore Boobs 4 weeks now...Ouch

I can relate to this one. About two or so months after my surgery, I kept ovaries, my breasts got so sore. I thought it was my ovaries waking up and that it was going to stop in about a week like when I'd of normally gotten my period. However, it kept on and on and it lasted all month long. Then I'd go for a few days and they would start to hurt again. Not tenderness, but pain I went and had my hormone levels checked and my estrogen was normal, but a HIGH normal, my others were a LOW normal. So my Dr. and my Chiro. decided that maybe I was not "balanced" Well I pretty much figured that. So my chiro suggested that I try to use natural progesterone cream to see if that helped to balance me out. It took away the breast pain within the first week. And the only time my pain came back is when I went the week without it. So, now, after talking to her again, she suggested for the week I'd normally not be on it, to use just one time a day instead of two and it seems to be doing the trick. You might try to talk to your Dr. about that and see what he/she says. It sure helped me and I was so glad ! The breast pain for me was worse than post op pain.

thanks cwbysldi

I'll have to check into that progesterone cream. Thanks for info. I'm on week five now. Mine don't seem as painful as yours sounded. I have to go for my yearly mamo and don't want to go until the pain goes away!!!!!!!!!! Thanks again.

Sore Breasts - Non-hormonal help

I had one breast that hurt all the time post TAH/BSO. After mammograms and a biopsy of a nodule showed nothing by a benign condition, one doctor recommended evening primrose oil--finally--more than a year after surgery. The good fats in the evening primrose oil took care of the worst of the pain.
