Rectal Muscle Control?

I asked this question on the post op board but got only one response so I thought I'd take a shot here.

Now that I'm no longer constipated, I'm experiencing a new problem. At about 6:30 AM I'm awakened by the urgent need to empty my bowels. I barely make it to the bathroom before it's on it's way out the "door". It's like I can't stop it. An hour or so later, the same thing. Sometimes up to 4 times in a morning.

I realize that at nearly 5 weeks post op I might have some diminished muscle control. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem & has it resolved? Will kegals help?

I see my gyne/oncologist/surgeon Friday and will ask her about it then, but I was hoping someone here had some words of wisdom.

Rectal Muscle Control?

Hi ((((Jones)))) I'm so sorry you're having these problems

I haven't had this particular problem, except when dealing with diarrhea. Have you mentionned this to your doctor? If you haven't, I would give him/her a call. This could be just a normal part of healing, however, it's always a good idea to consult your doctor, just to be on the safe side.

Sending tons of healing s your way. Please let us know how you're doing.
