PERSISTANCE pays off!!

Hi sisters!!!

Well my quest for getting my way has paid off..

I posted my venting session about my Dr appt a few posts back and got a surprising call this morning!!

All of my persistance has pain off!! The head of the Gyn dept called me and told me that she personally went down to the clinic that my PCM is in and got all of my scans and reports from her to give to my Gyn.

She was sooooo nice!! She even went to the records dept and got all of my loose records and to the x-ray dept and got my recent x-rays I am definetly taking her flowers tomorrow for all of her help!!

As I said before I was suppose to go over the scans and tests with my PCM, you all remember, the ones I FREAKED out over trying to read myself.. I will go over them with my Gyn tomorrow and hopefully he will be able to tell me what they mean and if more tests are needed he can schedule them. I am so sick of waiting!! I am the most impatient person I know!!

I will not allow ANY stone to be left unturned. I dont care if I do sound like a hypocondriac to any Dr, at least I will have peace of mind!! So far I am backed 100% by all of them.

I am not feeling to well today, but with this news I got it makes it a little easier to cope with.

This is to all of my sisters out there battling for answers. BE PERSISTENT!! It DOES pay off in the end. Let your Dr's know your the boss and you pay THEM to help you, not to take your money and string you along!!!!!!!!!

to all!!!

Pam ...way to go!

So, how exactly did you get the head of the gyn dept to call you? Did the patient advocate get that going for you?

Hooray

Hi,
I'm so glad you had a breakthrough and are making progress with all of your issues. Yes, persistence does pay off, but it does get wearisome. That's why we have each other to add strength when one of us gets weak. You are in my prayers.

PERSISTANCE pays off!!

Being persistant is something that never came easy to me.......until lately. I have my doctor appointment tomorrow and I will be thinking of you, Pam. I will be thinking about how your persitance payed off for you and it will with me too. I hopefully will be on my way to getting the answers after tomorrow.

I'm so glad you got what you wanted. Good job for sticking up for yourself!

PERSISTANCE pays off!!

Pam, not only did you get what you wanted, but you probably helped paved the way for other patients as well. Sometimes it takes having the obvious pointed out to get people on the ball. Good for you! I have no doubt you'll find answers to your questions soon.

You go girl!!!

I'm glad you are finally getting the help that you need - but how sad is it that we have to keep pestering people to get it.

Good luck!!

PERSISTANCE pays off!!

Thanks Sisters!!

The reason the head of the Gyn clinic called me is that she is the one in charge of booking all of the pre-op appts and arranging everything so it does not get messed up. I got to know her OH too well when I was booking my lap and then my hyst 2 years ago. I also spent ALOT of time in the clinic and she was always so nice and kind to me.

When I called the Gyn clinic on Tues I did not expect to talk to her, but I thank god that I did. I can honestly say that without her I would probably still be battling, and YES it can be so draining when you have to keep going on and on with it.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with Military medical facilities, it is all of the clinics, x-ray, lab, pharmacy and ER are in one large hospital on most bases. SO, they do not have to go far to get the records and tests results and they are all very familiar with the other clinics and most of the Dr's in them.

GET THIS!!!!!!!!! I just listened to my answering machine to a message that was left while I was at the orthodontist with DD (and yes, I wore my PJ's) around 4:30 and it was someone calling to tell me that my appt for tomorrow has been cancelled and I need to call Tricare appt line to reschedule it.

DO ANY OF THE STAFF COMMUNICATE OR LOOK AT A COMPUTER??? I rescheduled it what, 3 days ago? I wish I could have got that call personally!!!!! It would not have been pretty

I wish you ALL had the luck I have had with this appt, it can get soooo frusterating!

I love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
