borderline ovarian malignancy

Im not too sure what you mean by a 'borderline malignancy'? My first operation was due to a humongous cyst on one ovary which was removed. Unfortunately the result from the pathology was a malignancy in the endometrium around the ovary. A week later i had a full hyste with cervix, ovaries and anything else they could find removed! My grading was a 1a which means that it was right at the beginning stages and therefore i needed no further treatment apart from the surgery. Is this what they mean when they say 'borderline'?? I found having two operations close together very very difficult and i was very weak. I am now l2 weeks post op, fighting fit, except for getting tired now and then and looking forward to my holiday in Mauritius in 2 weeks time! Hope all goes well and let us know how you are doing. Take care

borderline ovarian malignancy

There are lots of things labeled borderline ovca. I had a fibroma stromal cancer in the ovary and the shorthand on the forms say borderline ovca. My surgery was 3 years 9 months ago and it really hasn't been any different from a normal hysterectomy except that I have follow-up CT scans and more frequent visits to the doctor for check-ups. And a case of cancerhead--the weird fears and dreads and worries. Don't worry--that passes, it really does.
