Rectocele Repair - Any Regrets!!!

Hi Everyone,

I had a rectocle repair along with other repairs done on 2/14/03. It's has been 8 weeks and I still am uncomfortable with the rectocele repair. I had problems sitting prior to the surgery and still have problems. Nothing feels normal down there. My buttocks feels real tight and I feel like there is something inside of me.

As anyone else experienced anything like this. I am starting to worry and almost regret having the rectocele repair fixed. All the other repairs have gone well. It is just this one.

My doctor has suggested physical therapy to work on the scar tissue from the rectocele repair and to work on the pelvic muscles etc. I have a few treatment and also 2 biofeedback treatments, but no change yet.

I am get anxious because I start back to work Wednesday.

Please help! Thanks, Debbie

Help! Rectocele Repair

I changed the subject line hoping I would get some responses.

I don't know what is wrong with me. I have been upset day and can't stop crying and worrying that I made a big mistake by having this rectocele repair done. I am afraid I will never be able to sit and will always have this pressure bulging feeling inside of me even though it has only been 8 weeks. I would be more hopeful if I have been slowly seeing an improvement, but it doesn't seem so.

I probably need to make an appt and see the doctor again and discuss my concerns. My last appt she says everything is progressing and recommended physical therapy and biofeedback.

Sorry to vent. Thanks for any responses.

Rectocele Repair - Any Regrets!!!

((((Debbie))))) I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time of it I had my rectocele repair at the same time as my hyst and was feeling pretty good, even with the hyst issues, by the eighth week. ((((Sweetie)))) Have you tried seeking another opinion as to what is causing all that discomfort? Since the therapy is not really helping (could take a while before you feel the benefits... I know you do not really want to hear this ), the feelings might be cause by something other than scar tissue.

I'm sorry I'm not able to offer any more insight. I do hope you feel better soon. Please let us know how you're doing.

Rectocele Repair - Any Regrets!!!

Hi Dany,

I have considered getting a second opinion. I am switching to another physical therapist who is specializes in women pelvic floor disorders etc. The therapist I have seen 3 times really does more breathing and stretching exercises.

It took me so long to find a doctor I was confident in to even do this surgery. I had trouble since my hysterrectomy, so I was trying to be so careful about the surgeon I had to this surgery. I just feel something is not right about the rectocele repair. I'm wonder if rectocele repairs can be fixed etc. I am for a loss and don't know what to do.

Thanks for responding.

Debbie
