I have a another fistula

Hey Girls,

Just had my cystogram today, there is definately another fistula. I have an IVP on Thursday. Will talk to my doctor next week and see if he thinks that cauterizing will work or is the fistula too big. What an ordeal getting into the hospital, had to fill out a form and encounter people with masks re: the SARS thing.

Wish me luck on Thursday. I just found out my salary is cut down 50% April 29th. You know if it wasn't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all.

Thinking of you all,

Sherry o

I have a another fistula

Yikes Sherry,

I'm so sorry you have developed another fistula. I go in for my checkup this week and I'm scared something is wrong too. I told ya'll that I bled the other day. Well I have a yeast infection and a UTI again and on antibiotics. Although I don't know why I bled still. My GYN didn't know either.

Sherry you started leaking again. How many weeks post op from the fix surgery are you. Hang in there. I will be thinking of you. ((((((((((((((((((((((SHERRY))))))))))))))))))

Renee

The fistula surgery was Feb 3rd. I notice some leaking when I peed the bed March 4th. Then it stopped for a bit and started up again around March 14th.

If they can't do the surgery May 1st, I think I will put it off for a while and get back to work. I need to go back for at least 30 days and then I am able to restart benefits again.

Just don't understand why they can' t fix this. The though of another abdominal surgery does not seem pleasing at his point. I need time to recover from the last two.

Renee, I hope it is nothing serious with you. Can't we just all get well soon.

Sometimes I wish I never got the hysterectomy.

Oh Sherry I'm so sorry to hear about the new fistula. I sure hope the DR will be able to cauterize it rather than having to do an abdominal repair surgery. When it rains it pours sometimes... but your luck is bound to change soon. Things have just got to get better!

I have a another fistula

Boy can I relate to wishing I never had this hysterectomy. EVERYONE was telling me it was the best thing I could be doing and I waited 5 years before I finally had the gutts to do it. Had been suffering for years with endo, fibroids, heavy bleeding and PAIN. I'd take the pain now of periods and ovulation over this.
I'm so afraid I'm not fixed. I will find out more tomorrow with my uro appointment.

Sherry I don't think I could go through another surgery either at this point. I think you should recover for a long(er) time since you and me seem to be at the same time frame. Had the fistula repair a day apart, and two abdominal surgeries in 3 months.

I will be thinking of you to be able to take each day as it comes. That's all you can do at this point. Hang in there. YOU are in my thoughts. Maybe it will heal on it's own??? Are you catherterized AGAIN???

BIG HUGS to you.

I would catherize the doctor before he would me. NEVER, unless I am healing from surgery. I hate those things. When they used the catheter for the cystogram yesterday it was leaking out faster than hey could pump it in, so in any case don't think a it would do much good.

Rather have do the diaper thing, at least you get some freedom when in the shower.

Waiting for nice weather so I can sit diaperless and pantless in my chaise lounge running the hose over me and nobody none the wiser that I am peing myself silly.

Really, you got to laugh -- all out of tears.

Thanks for the posts, they really help me.

I have a another fistula

SherryT,

I am so mad! It's bad enough that we had to have one fistula surgery-two is unacceptable! Did they mention how the new fistula developed? It's just not fair, drs need to get their act together and stop this from happening to women who have already gone through too much.

I know you will get through this, it's just not right that you have to. I will post as much as I can and feel free to e-mail me. I also had days where I thought I had made a terrible mistake having the hysterectomy, but I have days now where I'm glad I did. You'll get there my friend, hang in there! (I don't blame you for not letting them cath you, and I loved the idea of cathing the drs, they sould try it for a while and maybe it would make them a little more careful!

Lots of hugs coming your way, my friend!

SLouise you are hired! Not sure for what, but I want you to represent me! I have typed a letter to the doctor asking him to call me immediately after he receives the results from my cystogram an IVP. I am dropping it off at his office at the hospital tomorrow.

I have my 6 weeks check up for my blood pressure today and going to ask my GP what he thinks of all this.

Thank God for you guys and this site. I don't know what I would have done without it

I have a another fistula

Dear Sherry,
I am so sorry you will have to go through this again! Before I went to sleep yesterday I told the student dr's not to freak out when they took a look under the blanket 'cause I was a mess. A little boy that looked like he should have been in high school said isn't that why you are here? I have no advice for you except keep your chin up. It is just a repeat of what you had before so you already know the routine. I wish we could all just go to sleep & wake up cath & leak free!
God Bless,
Terry
