pet scan/bladder problems

I had the Pet scan this morning.The radiologist told me to try not to think, because brain activity can effect the test results. It is hard to try not to think so I just tried not to think too hard. I laid there thinking of a saint for each letter of the alphabet, but couldn’t for o u and y. I did better with animals, but couldn’t think of one for X . The radiologist was having a busy day and only had time for a quick glance at some of my results, but said everything looks good, same as the last one. I will see the doctor next Wednesday .;
Ever since the surgery last August
i have had a problem with bladder leaking when I cough or run, or sometimes if I stretch during the night. It seemed to be better for a while but was bad this week. I empty my bladder as much as possible, but then a bit later I will feel a mild tweaky like spasm and urine comes out uncontrollably. I empty my bladder evry two hours, limit fluids, wear pads, and keep a change of clothers with me. I thought these symptoms were caused by tumors, but in January the scan showed no tumors and thankfully todays seem to show the same. Does any one have any experience with these kind of bladder problems 8 months after surgery and 1 month after chemo? I am taking part in a 3 hour church service on Easter and won't be able to duck out and use the bathroom so i am worried.

s Debbie

I am glad to hear that the preliminary reading of your PET scan is so good!!!! Way to go.
I really don't have any experience with bladder problems. I do know there are medications that can help with the urgency and frequency part. Maybe you could ask your family doc about this.
Your church is blessed to have you as a member. I'm sure no one would mind if you had to disappear into the bathroom a time or two.
Have a great Easter!!!!

pet scan/bladder problems

A friend had a hyst a few years ago (not related to cancer) and is having a terrible time with bladder control. She is in her early 40's and is considering having the bladder lifted. She said it happens when she laughs, coughs, throwing up, or just doesn't get to the potty enough.....Have you talked to your dr. about it??

don't know if this applys-- but did you have your cervix removed during your hysterectomy? Sometimes this can cause leakage. Ask your doc.
