Hi again all! I am 32 and had a partial hysterectomy almost a year ago, about 2 weeks after my hysterectomy I went to the doctor and was told it was a hematoma, which scared the **** out of me, he never would tell me what was up, of course military doctors are like that, finally after six months I got a second opinion and was told that right after my surgery the Hematoma was the size of a hamburger, but at that time it was the size of a Chicken nugget, I assume I caught him right before lunch, anyway he said it would dissolve itself. My question is it has been a year since my surgery and last week the pain came back so bad that it was almost like it was two days after my surgery again. Has anyone else had this problem and what is exactly is a hematoma? thank you for any help

I found a few other threads where hematoma was discussed. I hope this is helpful to you.

I think it would be a good idea to give your doctor a call back and let the know how you are feeling. Take care!

Dear Flossy,

I had a hematoma at 3 weeks post-op that was the size of a tennis ball. In my case, I was admitted to the hospital for a vaginal surgery to drain the hematoma.

I don't know why some docs choose to drain the hematoma & others choose to watch & hope it will re-absorb.

I hope your doc will have some answers for you soon.

Sending huge cyberhugs,
