Vulva Cancer VIN 3
Hello Sisters, I'm looking to see if anyone else is going through the same or has been through it already and could enlighten me on what to expect. I had my LSH on 3-21-03, in which they also found vulva cancer, stage 3, and I won't know if it all was removed or if it spread, or spread to other parts of my body, until next week at my 6 week post-op. Which I'm a nervous wreck about. If you have any insight, please let me know, I do appreciate it, very much!!! Thanks

Vulva Cancer VIN 3
 's Christina!
Just a question--do you have vulvar cancer or VIN 3? The two are not the same, since vulvar cancer would be invasive and VIN 3 is actually a precancerous condition.
I had vaginal carcinoma-in-situ (noninvasive cancer) which was located right at my vaginal entrance and moving slightly up my posterior vaginal wall. I am 2 years post-TAH and so far all of my PAP's (with the exception of one done 1 year postop) have come back clear. It has been a very nerve-wracking experience, because I always worry about it recurring and then needing to have even more of that area removed. My healing time was slow (several months before DH and I could be intimate ), so I would hate to repeat it.
I do the best I can for myself by eating well, getting plenty of sleep, exercising, doing yoga, and taking my vitamins along with a folic acid supplement. You might like to ask your doctor what would be most appropriate for you!
Make sure to come back after your 6-week visit (or sooner!) to let us know how you are getting along, and what you have found out about your condition.
