Yeast Infections/Replens

Hello!!!!

Quick question: Are symptons of yeast infections different after TAHs? I am using Replens again, can't decide if discharge is from using Replens or a yeast infection. I don't have any itching or irraitation, just the discharge that is white, no smell and lumpy.

I really don't mean to be gross: but in the last 9 months I have spent alot of money on trying to make my lower parts feel normal (Terzol and diflucan for numerous yeast infections, Replens, and KY gel)

Will this situation eventually get back to normal, or do I need to plan on spending the rest of my life trying to moisturize and treat my vaginal area? Is this normal???

Sorry to gripe, but I feel like I just went from buying pads and tampons once a month, to trying to figure out what "beauty/health aids" I need for the lower half of my body. Feels like when I was a teenager, trying to find the right shade of lipstick.

By the way, I am 9 months post op TAH, kept both ovaries, no HRT's. AM taking black cohosh, evening primrose, vitE, acidilliphus (sorry about spelling), calcium and multivitiman. Have had nurmerous sinus infections and plenty of antibodics. Went to GP for preventive healthcare visit. Just had bloodwork done to check thyroids, diabetes and etc. Thanks for letting me vent!!!

Yeast Infections/Replens

Hi Jackie! You should have the discharge cultured to make sure it's not a yeast infection... but Replens can cause a white lumpy discharge at first when you start using it.

Have you considered some vaginal estrogen (vagifem, estring or cream) to help with the dryness? It may be that your ovaries are still working but might not be putting out quite as much due to their compromised blood supply... when that happens, sometimes the estrogen level is high enough to stave off hot flashes but not high enough to maintain healthy vaginal tissues.

You've probably seen them already, but just in case, here are links about yeast infections:

and vaginal dryness:

I really think that once you get those tissues plumped up with enough estrogen, you won't have any more trouble with yeast infections or any other kind of discharge. I hope this helps!

Yeast Infections/Replens

I had the exact same thing with Replens - and it didn't clear up either. I was recommended BioFem Actigel (thanks to whoever that was because I've forgotten who told me) and its fantastic - much more like natural lubrication, and no white gunk!! In the UK you can get a free sample right now from BioFem - I believe its available in the US also.
