Getting so nervous
So, everyone has been asking me, are you nervous, scared?? and my answer to everyone up until today has been no, i am not. Well today the nerves have hit me. i am scheduled to go in tomorrow. I have to be at the hospital at 645am and am scheduled for a LAVH. My doctor did go over some things with me, because of my past 2 surgeries, endometriosis and adhessions, he did say that when they go in with the laprascope, if they see more damage or more than they think they can do with a LAVH, they may have to make it not a LAVH and go the other routes. That is a tiny bit scary, but I know my docotr has said that he will do everything to make the incisions as minimal as possible. I guess its just my nerves that are getting the best of me. Any advise will be much appreciated. Also I dont know if this is where I post this question or not, but should I bring kotex with me to the hospital??

Re: Getting so nervous
It's completely normal for you to be nervous!! I was the same way. Just try to take a deep breath and relax. Know that soon you will be on the other side.
It helps to keep yourself as busy as possible. If you are doing other things, it tends to keep your mind off of everything that is stressing you out. Make sure you have all your stuff packed so that is one less thing to worry about. , Kotex might be a good idea. Some women need them and some don't but it is always better to be over prepared than under!!
This site helped me so much especially when I got nervous. It helped to know that I wasn't alone. It helped to read the success stories so I knew there was life after hysterectomy! This is a stressful time, but you will be fine. It sounds like you have a very caring who will do all he can to make your recovery as easy as possible.
to you tomorrow!!! I hope your surgery goes well and you a have a quick and smooth recovery!!!
See you on the other side!!

Re: Getting so nervous
Thank you for all the support. It is a little after midnight and I am supposed to be at the hospital at 645am, nerves have got the best of me tonight. I tried staying busy all day today. My mom and sister suggested that to me, just like you all did. it did work, until I got home and settled in for the evening. I know it will all be okay and will keep you all posted on how everything goes. Thank you again for all the support. i know i just joined today, but for the past 2 weeks, i have been coming back to this site as a guest because I have had questions about hysterectomies and this site was always one of the first sites that popped up on google, and I am very glad it did. I have found all the stories from everyone so supportive and informative. it has eased a lot of my worries. Thank you again. Rachel
