natural alternatives to pain

I have had severe and debilitating pain associated with my periods for a year or more. Six months ago I went to my ob/gyn and she suggested an endometrial biopsy to rule out cancer. Thank God it was negative. We then did a ultrasound and found thickening of the uterine lining. I was given options of the pill (I don't do well on it), cauterization or a hysterectomy. Not happy with any of those I endured the pain. A month ago I had another ultrasound with revealed thickening of the lining and a mass which the doc felt was a polyp. Has anyone out there had any good results with any alternative/holistic treatments? My hormone levels were checked and came back o.k.
Thanks,
Can't take the pain

natural alternatives to pain

Hi alpinelilly

I don't have any experience with a holistic approach, but I did try an ablation for my thickend uterine lining, bleeding and cramping. Mine was the rollerball cautery method. I also had a hysteroscopic myomectomy attempted- but that particular "fibroid" was really a nodule of adenomyosis. There are lots of women who do achieve very good results from ablations, we just don't usually see them posting here on a hysterectomy site.

Here's a link to an Endometrial Ablation Discussion Group if you'd like to read more about E.A. and a link about Polypectomy too.

My ablation was an easy procedure for me with a short recovery. (Easier than my periods were ) It didn't work for me but my sister never had another period after she had hers.

I wish you the best of luck for success with whatever method you decide on. I know it isn't easy.

Sending gentle s your way.
Beth
