Celebrating no more uterus!

Ok, just for fun! What are you doing to celebrate your hysterectomy??

Lol, I've bought new undies and maybe I'll get some new lingerie! Lol, I'm usually shirt and shorts to sleep in but maybe I'll spice it up for hubby!!

Re: Celebrating no more uterus!

I haven't done anything to celebrate, but I'm definitely excited to have my uterus gone. I just hit the three week mark yesterday, so I'm still not even close to being fully recovered. But once I'm healed, I'm going to travel (something that the 24/7 heavy and painful bleeding never let me enjoy before).

Re: Celebrating no more uterus!

What a great title for a thread! And it looks like it could use a little perking up...

About midway through week 4 postop as I write this. I haven't done too much in the way of celebrating yet, aside from gleefully noting that the usual timeframe for my period has come and gone without the usual shenanigans... I could really get used to this whole "no bleeding/cramping/leaking/aching/etc.-ing" gig!

Have gone through my panty wardrobe and culled any and all past casualties of feminine-product malfunctions-- they were consequently used on the first few days of a period. It feels a little awkward having only them set aside, but merely throwing them away just isn't enough. Come summer, a cremation ceremony during a camping trip is in order...

Donated leftover products to a women's shelter. They were thankful for them; I'm thankful for the freed-up bathroom cabinet space. I can't help grinning like a fool every time I open one and seeing how much less crowded it is in there!

Will have to start planning for the 1-year anniversary, with a smaller "warmup" celebration the month before, in observance of the last. Period. I. Will. Ever. Have!!

Re: Celebrating no more uterus!

Love this topic! BlueRoux's cremation idea is great!!

I think there will be white capris in my closet this summer, probably an array of light coloured pants/shorts/capris.

Travelling is a great idea. The other day my husband and idea were talking about a warm weather trip next February or March. My mind instantly started to go to to my period and how timing would work out. Once I realized that's something I don't ever have to worry about again I started to giggle with joy Recovery isn't easy, sure is nice to have white capris and worry-free vacations to look forward to!

Re: Celebrating no more uterus!

Reading several of these posts put a smile on my face. I have been down lately, my surgery was 10 days ago. These posts put a positive light in the change and what to look forward to. Wow it will be so nice to go camping, backpacking, etc without having to make room in my pack or bike bag for girly products.
