I know we all heal differently but it is always helpful to compare notes. I have more good days than bad. How are all you ladies doing? Hopefully very well!

I'm doing better than before, when I get up in the morning I feel great, but by the end of the day I'm very sore with swelly belly. I'm glad to hear your doing well. Now it seems like there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Sorry It said TVH, I thought it was TAH

Glad to hear from you anyway. I was just posting on the swelly belly post. I thought it was hyst TAH that had it. Surprise (bad one) that at the end of a long day so do I. I also feel ok in the morning and lose it as the day passes (picture a big blow up doll that deflates from the top) I feel like the muscles in my body lose the ability to hold me up as the day passes. I am so grateful that my dr said I could have extra time before working again (8 weeks) as I can't imagine going back in 2 more weeks! Hang in there!

I can't IMAGINE going back to work at this point but I am sure I will soon. This whole thing has been an awful nightmare that I never needed to go thru to begin with. I blame myslef mostly. It was a lot like genital mutilation at the hands of a Kaiser doc slash butcher. My uterus was fine, my beeding could have been controlled if only I had not trusted this woman.

My friends and family tell me "your a nurse, you should have known" but I guess I trusted the wrong doc and paid a dear price. Had I gotten a second opinion, or found a website such as this, much of the misery I endured would have been prevented. I regret, I feel violated and yes, because I come from strong positive family genetics, I will survive.

There, I feel better. On the upside, as I am told, at the very least I did not have to suffer as so many of my sisters have, with dodgey diagnosis of cervical dysplasia, endometriosis or suffer dibilitating heavy pain, periods, incontinence etc. Mine was a simple case of a greedy doctor who needed to fund a vacation. Sheesh, I sound bitter.

I feel great. Almost back to my old self. Sometimes towards the end of the day I might have a bit of pressure, especially in the postierior repair area..but other than that very well.

Kathiem, how did you talk your Dr into 8 weeks? I only have two more to go.....(sigh) I don't really want to go back yet. Perhaps 1/2 days the first week? I still really like my afternoon naps :-).

Haunted...sorry to read of your expierences. I sure hope your healing comes along well and that you are back into the swing of things soon. I belong to <oops! name of insurance company removed per site guidelines!> as well and really feel fortunate to have had a good experience with all of this. The OB/GYN I have came highly recommened and his speciality is with prolapse issues. I have never had a DR call me just to check in. He has at least once a week since my surgery. He seems very dedicated.

Cheers All, Speedy Recovery

Chris...I laid awake at night worrying about going back at 6 weeks. Saw the Dr last week and he was "oh, no problem, tell me what you need and gove me the fmla to sign. I have developed a rectocele because of the hyst and wonder how your repair was and if you had problems since. DId it fix the problems you had?

Haunted...I don't know what you had wrong or what kind of surgery. I am so sorry you are not with peace with your decision. I had post menopausal bleeding and severe dysplasia (I am 3 years past menopause, 52, and did not want to keep going for procedures until it was finally cancer) I have a moments where I wonder if I jumped the gun, expecially with the rectocele which may need more surgery but in the end I am glad to have the peace of mind that I will not get cancer like my grandmother, mother and aunt and all the women I who's posts I read daily. I don't know if any of that applies to you but I do send a hug your way! Kathie

Hello HysterSisters,
I had a TVH on 9-20 for fibroids. I have been so busy and feeling so great that I have not taken the time to get on the computer and write to the forum.
My surgical experience was awesome! I am an RN, I picked my staff. I highly reccommend spinal fentanyl for anesthesia. My fibroid was so big, that I had tearing on the outside, just like the epis when I had my big babies. So I did have some problems with sitting at first. My co-workers dressed up the picture of my big and ugly fibroid with the yuckiest baby blankets and put it in a crib, brought it to my room, and congratulated my on the new "baby". Yes, bad Nursing humor.
The day after I came home, I went shopoping with my husband. I only went into 1 store, and then out to lunch for some fast food. 10 days after surgery, I went with my husband to his class reunion. I was exhausted the next day, but I had a great time at the party!
I have been doing to much! Laundry, cleaning, helping out at school, shopping, my son's birthday party. I have been loving my time off and I don't want to go back to work. But the fun must come to an end.
I have no pain, none since about 10 days, no problems, and no regrets! Thanks for your Sister Support!
